So onto Chaos adventures…

I get asked a lot about where I forage, and also about the hikes my partner and I go on. I want to share some of my favourites in Dorset and the UK in general. Most importantly I want to share some tips on what to bring/wear/ & of course the amazing local pubs & cafes that make the hikes even more worthwhile. I am extremely lucky to own a campervan ( Rhonda ) and have a partner who is equally as passionate about hiking as me. We also love to travel & I will be adding some blogs shortly around some of my worldwide travels!

What to bring?

Some key things to bring if you are keen to start bigger walks, generally anything 2 hours plus.

Hiking boots (and a dry bag left in the car for when they are super muddy, or you fall into a bog like the photo of me above. )

  • Water bottle

  • Snacks ( your bound to get lost at some point and get hangry! )

  • Portable charger ( using walking apps will drain battery very quickly! )

  • Bag for your jumper / coat when you get hot!

  • All trails app - My absolute must have app for walking! Pre downloading your route helps as well as can save on battery.

  • Hand sanitise

Helpful links to get you started:

Brockenhurst is a lovely little village, have brekkie at The Paddle & in the summer be sure to check out the INCREDIBLE The Pig and grab a pizza and a pint outside. On the walk, you will go past Rhinefield Arboretum. It has a magnificent range of tree species from around the world and is worth a visit.

Lyndhurst is my favourite town in the forest. Before you start your walk grab a coffee at The Woods Cyclery & when you finish up your walk be sure to head to the Fox and Hounds pub and cosy in front of the fire.

Burley is a very popular little village in the Forest. Home to a delicious fudge shop and lovely tea rooms! This walk is quite a toughy, so I would suggest making sure you bring supplies so maybe stock up on the fudge before you go ;)
